Our trip to Spokane was the decision making moment for us. We met nearly all of the employees at the plant and found them to be like a family. Everyone from the secretary to the company founder, were friendly and had a genuine interest in their product. During the tour, the trucks spoke for themselves. They are well built, well engineered and operator friendly. Most importantly, during the entire tour we were never once pressured into the purchase of a truck. Once our decision was made, the actual purchasing transaction was surprisingly smooth and easy. After the purchase we were trained for two days and came home with an exceptional truck, peace of mind and new friendships. Buying and owning a truck from Shredfast is nothing short of exceptional, we appreciate all they do for their customers.

It is a great pleasure to feature Northeast Mobile Shredding, LLC in our Customer Spotlight.
NORTHEAST MOBILE SHREDDING (NEMS), of Horseheads, NY was founded by Emily Sira in 1995. Identifying a need for secure destruction and disposal of confidential documents was the first step for Emily and her staff in building a successful business from scratch. “Companies need to manage their confidential papers to protect their proprietary information and the privacy of their clients and employees,” explains Sira. “Once our clients toss their confidential materials into our specially designed bins, they don’t have to worry about a thing.”
One of the company’s major breakthroughs in building a successful business was the ability to provide onsite shredding. That ability can usually solve 95% of their clients’ document security issues. The addition of the Shredmobile II, manufactured by Shredfast, was the key in taking the business to the next level. Emily states, “Not only have we increased the amount of confidential documents we shred, we can do it so much faster and with significant cost savings to our clients.” NEMS has become more flexible in handling larger jobs and one-time cleanouts while still meeting the needs of smaller volume clients. “We provide an affordable, efficient, totally secure service that is environmentally sound, given that we recycle the shredded material.” The business has grown at such a healthy pace that they will be adding the Shredfast Shredmobile III to their fleet.

Docu-Shred, of Wilsonville, OR is the focus of our Customer Spotlight in this issue. Docu-Shred was founded in 1994 by Glen and Gale Gieg in Portland, OR. They had a vision that the secure handling of business documentation would eventually become a necessary part of doing business. They were right. The company has grown steadily and now employs a current staff of 24.
Docu-Shred now operates out of a 16,000 SF office/warehouse complex with a baling operation for its shredded paper and recycling. The company currently operates eight Shredfast trucks, utilizing the Models 100, 200 and 300. Docu-Shred services customers of all kinds across the spectrum of industries. They service accounts from two person offices to some of the country’s largest firms and organizations.
When asked about how Shredfast has enhanced his business, Mr. Gieg said “Shredfast trucks have taken the company from mediocre performance to it’s current position as one of the country’s largest independent mobile shredding operations. It’s all about speed. When you process more paper in minutes than you used to in hours, you can make money. Dave and his crew at Shredfast have been a pleasure to do business with over the years. We use them exclusively and value our relationship with them.”
Despite more and more competition, Gieg says that he foresees continued growth for years to come for his company because of the growing awareness of the need for information privacy.

 It is with great pleasure to feature St. Louis Data Destruction, Inc. in our Customer Spotlight. St. Louis Data Destruction, Inc. was founded in 1985 by Mr. Kenneth E. Walsh Sr. His son, John, began cold calling on prospective clients and realized the potential of what customers were in need of. In 1987, Ken Sr. and Ken Jr. joined John and together have become a very successful document destruction company. Due to increased sales, they moved from a 6,000 square foot warehouse into its present 40,000 square foot building in July of 1996. After a long illness, Mr. Walsh passed away in 1997. Ken and John have continued operating the business and have grown to become the largest document destruction service in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Today, St. Louis Data Destruction, Inc. has about 2,500 accounts in Missouri and Illinois. When asked what their thoughts were regarding Shredfast Mobile Shredding Equipment, both have very high regards. “This truck has allowed SLDD to reach the next level of service our clients were looking for. We are able to handle larger volumes in less time, and service more clients on a daily basis. Our Shredfast truck is one of our best sales & marketing tools.” Way to go Ken and John! Secure Document Destruction (SDD), of Port Charlotte, FL is the focus of our Customer Spotlight for this issue. Secure Document Destruction was founded in August 2002 by Carol and William Brown. They started their company to provide a cost effective, secure and efficient solution for the destruction of confidential documents. Currently they have two Shredfast SF 300 Pierce and Tear trucks and doubled in size in just two years. SDD provides a service to a wide variety of customers such as financial institutions, healthcare, and law enforcement. Due to governmental regulations and the public's heightened awareness of identity theft crimes, they expect to see significant growth in the industry in the foreseeable future. Shredfast takes great pride in our equipment and service. We are always asking our customers, "How can we help your business"? Carol Brown replied "The shred speed and uptime reliability of our trucks have enabled us to quickly complete high volume jobs. We really appreciate the technical support that we continue to receive from the folks at Shredfast. Their guidance relating to routine maintenance suggestions, coupled with their continued focus on product improvement are reassuring to us". Initial truck and manufacturer selection is critical as reliability and support are most important when it’s your sole mobile unit. We had simple but strict criteria in evaluating the many options available, as well as the companies that built them. Demanding quality and considering our market requirements, our field of equipment alternatives narrowed quickly. Shredfast not only provided us with on-site training at their state-of-the-art-facility, but they have been there for us 24/7 to answer any questions that have arisen every step of the way. The truck’s capabilities and efficiency continues to amaze us on a daily basis.
There are many different companies building trucks these days and they all shred paper but the key is service, quality, and the relationship.
